November Update
Dear subscribers:
Thank you for your patience and attention in October.
My plan was to read and post about a different Halloween horror short story each day. I was humbled by your wonderful response. Ordinarily, I am not comfortable with long-term commitments involving consistent daily activity.
I particularly want to welcome and thank subscribers who joined us in October.
My plan as of today for Reading After Dusk: a return to a weekly schedule.
There are several newer anthologies of contemporary and historical horror fiction that I am interested in reading and reporting on. (Currently, I am about five stories deep in Christmas and Other Horrors: An Anthology of Solstice Horror (2023) edited by Ellen Datlow.)
For the last six weeks I have been alternating fiction with How to Read Texts: A Student Guide to Critical Approaches and Skills (2nd Edition, 2013) by Neil McCaw. As an amateur reader, I find it accessible and very useful. I started re-reading it as soon as I finished it the first time.
Please enjoy and keep in touch! And please: share widely!
Many thanks!
Jay
